As technologists we’re always ready to fire up our IDE, Photoshop, or Illustrator and start something new, to build a better mouse trap, to connect dog-owners with dog-walkers. We build and build and build, but most of us don’t have the luxury to consider whether what we’re building is genuinely important.

But what happens when we encounter a catalyst — the death of a family member, job loss, or pandemic — that shakes everything up? How do you re-evaluate that mouse-trap factory job?
